Shake well before each use. These nontoxic, water-based markers need to be shaken thoroughly before use to mix the pigment. We recommend shaking the capped marker until you hear the ball move freely (30 seconds to a minute). If you don’t hear the ball moving inside, remove cap, press marker tip down once to release pressure, replace cap, and then shake again. Be sure marker is tightly capped and hold your finger over the cap while shaking to avoid splatter. Test flow before re-shaking.

Prime the marker. On scrap paper gently press the bullet tip until you see the color reach the base of the nib. Once full, further pressure will cause the marker to leak and puddle.

Prime your chalkboard. Be sure to prime your non-porous chalkboard before use by rubbing regular chalk the board and then wiping it off with a dry paper towel or rag (if you don’t have chalk on hand, you can substitute with corn starch or baby powder). Remove liquid chalk marker with a wet rag or paper towel.
